There has never been easier to go fishing in Iceland than now since for the first time the will be next season direct International flights to main town of east Iceland, Egilsstaðir from London Gatwick airport. These flights are are arranged by the travel agency Discover The World in UK and in this link below has further information. Angling Service Strengir has arranged that all anglers booked with us can use this uniq opportunity to travel nearly directly to our nearby Breiddalsa and Jökla fishery as seen on the map above close to Egilsstaðir. From that local airport is one hour transfer to Breiddalsa river, but only about 20 min transfer to Jökla river! It can not get much closer than that anywhere! Fligths are on Saturday and Wednesdays leaving Gatwick in afternoon and arriving same evening back to Gatwick from Egilsstaðir. So ideal to stay full seven nights in our lodges, or even shorter periods three or four nights when combined with these flights.
Egilsstaðir airport has up till now mainly been used by regular domestic flights within Iceland,
plus privat planes, but now it will change (May-Sept '16) with the new fligths from Gatwick.
This pool in Jökla river is only about 20 min away from the airport!
I look forward to arrange the best and easiest fishing trips for our regular guests as well as new one´s as long as the are availabilities in the rivers and in the new flights. But early enquirys are advisable.
