Things are looking up here in Iceland and some days ago we even had our official first day of summer. Spring is here, although the northland has had a cold spring. Down south has seen it moderate. Far better than last year although there are no records being broken.
On a far bigger note: Our company Strengir, reached the ripe old age of twenty several days ago, on the very same day that the companies director, (me!) turned fifty! So it was an easy decision to allow the luxury of a big, double birthday party where our friends and family got together and had a great night. We do not feel a day older than the day the company was started and we are still working along the same lines as we always have, leasing established rivers, building other ones and always striving to give the best personal service we can muster. As typical family run companies should. We feel we have done a good job, at least that is what many of our established clients keep telling us. So if that is the case, we will simply keep up the good work for another twenty years at least.
Day after the birthday I went to Germany to the flyfishing show EWF near Munchen and was happy to meet many of our friends and anglers that have visited us through the years. Great fun!
