The Jökla was quite a revelation this season. Thanks to the work done on the fish ladder at the head of the big canyon, and the stable water conditions for most of the summer, the new water that opened up to us in the upper river proved to be a very exciting find. This year the new area was only used for about 20 days of experimental fishing, but still produced 60 salmon, including some fine specimens in the 15 to 20 lb range. See more (pdf) >>

END OF SEASON ROUND-UP
WELL, THAT’S 2013 over and done with. Overall it was a very good season which saw many rivers in the West and North having record seasons, while things were slower in some of the rivers in the East.
