July looks to be one of the best on record at Breiddalsa, with 300 in the book (80 more than at the same time last year) and there is still another week to go. The opening month of the season has shown great improvements over the last three seasons and is now producing almost as many fish as August or September. What gives the July fishing an extra star for quality is the size of fish as they are mostly fresh run 2SW salmon.

Great start on our rivers
Our three major salmon rivers all started yesterday and we are very pleased with how things panned out. As we anticipated, Breiddalsa and Hruta produced well. To our pleasant surprise, Jokla also yielded a few salmon which has never been the case so early in the season before.
